Drummond Mule
At the Distillery, when the holiday spirit takes hold, it really takes hold. It's November 20th, in a month it's going to start to feel like that and we won't be able to deny it anymore... Christmas is coming. And what's better than some good Québécøl to celebrate the festive season? More Québécøl? Good answer.
So as the holiday season approaches we decided to make you a memorable series of cocktail recipes linked with our seasonal Cranberry, Raspberry and Labrador Tea Liqueur . This week we make you the Drummond Mule.
What's the connection?
We'll tell you what it is.
A little inspired by the famous Muskow Mule cocktail, the Drummond Mule is a cocktail combining our CØYØT, which is nothing more and nothing less than the Quebec version of whisky with a prettier name, with our cranberry liqueur to give you a little kick in your drink when the visit annoys you (or to make you a base because you know she's going to do it). Why Drummond? Because cranberries grow in this area in Quebec... right? And what's more, we meet the people of Drummond once a month at the Drummondville Public Market and we can say without exaggeration... all the inhabitants of Drummondville are our friends. Well, that's said, let's push it a little further...
Hello Drummonville, it's Québécøl, do you want to go out with us?
(suggested answer yes)
Back to the cocktail and finished making dirty eyes at Drummondville.
Here's how to get there:
-2 oz of CØYØT
-1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
-1 oz of fresh orange juice (your girlfriend is not watching, put on Minute Maid)
-1 oz of our Cranberry Raspberry and Labrador Tea Liqueur
-75 mL of homemade atoca (jam, that is)
-4 oz ginger ale (choose the brand you want)
-Fresh mint for garnish (or labrador tea leaves if you have them on hand)
-Orange slices, lime slices, cranberries (no need to slice them)
In your military grade shaker, put 2 tablespoons of cranberry jam, the Cranberry, Raspberry and Labrador Tea Liqueur , the mint leaves (a small handful) and the CØYØT . Crush the lumps well with your bar spoon or pestle, but be careful, it might butter it up a bit. Then shake it like your life depended on it, then pour it over ice in 2-3 glasses (WE SAID 2-3!)... no, we love you, so put it all in your glass. Then add as much ginger ale as you want and add the rest of your atoca jam. Stir it all gently to mix well. Then (if you have visitors for example and you want to make it look nice) garnish with slices of orange, lime, frozen cranberries and/or fresh mint. Ideally, serve it cold.
