The Ghost of the Cabin
People have told us so much about last week's pineapple drink (actually two people have told us about it and we tend to exaggerate) that we decided to make you another one this week. Once again this week, the drink is strong though. As they say - it will make you grow hair on your chest... not always practical for everyone so, be careful summer and swimsuit season are coming.
Direct from the old countries, the Alchemist has concocted a mixture for you at the junction of the new world and the old countries, passing by a detour of the Andes mountain range (obscure reference to the Cities of Gold... we are the age we are after all).
This week you will need:
-1 ounce and 2/3 of cognac (try Lock 4 Apple Brandy )
-2 teaspoons of maple syrup (if it is good you can add 2 tablespoons)
-1/2 ounce of our Gin-reduced
-3/4 ounce fresh pineapple juice
-1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
-1 pinch of salt (fresh salt too, while you're at it)
To make the recipe it's not too complicated, you put all that in your best mason jar with convenience store ice cream (because there is no more homemade cornice ice cream and convenience store ice cream all frozen in bread always tastes better), you mix it well cold and you filter it in a glass that was once a mustard jar that you found in your father's camp (a glass from the 1988 Calgary Olympics would also be acceptable).
