The Eight

This week we're going with the ultimate hunter's cocktail, The Eight. You might have noticed some nice bangs in the forest these past few days. And one thing that goes perfectly with hunting is CØYØT, our own version of bourbon, 100% made with our maple alcohol and lovingly aged with a mixture of toasted oak and maple wood. Just as our P'tit Réduit will certainly one day become Quebec's official alcohol, CØYØT will undoubtedly become the official little drink of all hunters.

And one thing we all wonder as we stare at the pile of carrots while nothing moves in the woods: are carrots actually good?

Honestly, we never dared to eat them, but since a bag of carrots costs $8 (hence the title - we're big on resourcefulness), we thought: "carrots are the new lobster" and we tried eating them. At first, we closed our eyes and held our noses, but then we came to this pseudo-prophetic revelation: carrots aren't bad at all!

So if you leave your spot frustrated, watching a porcupine eat your carrots, pick up a few, go back to camp, and make yourself The Eight.

To make it, you'll need:

- 4 oz of CØYØT

- 2 oz of lemon juice

- 4 oz of carrot juice (wait... 4 oz of CØYØT + 4 oz of carrot juice = 8!!! The EIGHT!!!! It can't just be a sign!)

- 1 oz of maple syrup

- Ice

Fill your shaker halfway with ice and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake it for a good 30 seconds to release your day's frustration.

Fill two glasses 3/4 full with ice and strain your cocktail into the glasses.

Share with your +1.
