Krampus struck

My dearest customers, this week we're going with a little cocktail that will make you sit comfortably in your chair and truly appreciate the holiday season. We've named it the Krampus Frappé to highlight our usual very pleasant visit to the German Christmas Market in Quebec City. Yes, folks, we don't have enough monsters on our side of the Atlantic, so we brought one over from the old country (plus Air Transat isn't on strike, so we paid for him to fly Club Transat). A little history: the Krampus is an Alpine folkloric creature, the demonic counterpart of Saint Nicholas, who punishes disobedient children at Christmas, whipping them with branches or carrying them away in his sack, symbolizing the duality of good and evil in pre-Christian Germanic traditions, with appearances during Krampusnacht on December 5th. But no stress here, Krampus found CØYØT and it calmed him down.

Back to our drink, don't be startled by the Krampus Frappé, it's a bit strong and features our CØYØT, our Juniper Pickle Liqueur (aka Pickle-Djinn) not to mention our Cranberry, Raspberry, and Labrador Tea Liqueur.

Here we go:

-1.5 oz of CØYØT

-0.5 oz of Pickle-Djinn

-1 oz of lemon juice

-0.75 oz of Cranberry, Raspberry, and Labrador Tea Liqueur

-one tablespoon of maple syrup

-Black food coloring powder

-Egg white

Put everything in the shaker and shake vigorously to make the egg white foam, then add ice and shake again until the shaker becomes very cold. Finish by straining into a martini glass, serve to your guests, and watch how Krampus will pick them off one by one ;-)
