The Nøgg

At Québécøl, we love to investigate all angles of the cocktail spectrum, especially since with the variety we have, there's no shortage of choice. So, looking through our archives, we realized we didn't have an equivalent for eggnog, so we decided to formulate one for you this morning. This is certainly not your liver's best friend that we're offering you here, but your taste buds will surely ask for more.

As for the ingredients:

-6 large eggs

-3 tablespoons of unsalted butter at room temperature

-3/4 cup of powdered sugar

-1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

-1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg and a little extra for garnish

-1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves

-a pinch of allspice

-2 and 1/2 cups of whole milk

-1/2 cup of our Smoked Juniper and Maple Mistelle

-1/2 cup of our CØYØT

First, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Take the yolks together and mix them with the butter until pale. Then add the powdered sugar and spices. Next, beat the egg whites until the mixture forms stiff peaks. Then mix the whites with the previously made egg yolk mixture. In a saucepan, heat the milk until warm (do not bring to a boil) then add our Smoked Juniper and Maple Mistelle then our CØYØT. Transfer the milk to a bowl and mix in the egg mixture. Transfer to a punch bowl and garnish with nutmeg.
