It has a bit of a kick, but that's generally what half of us need when the beautiful snowflakes start to fall. Thinking about it this way, since snowflakes mean Santa Claus is going back to work (he's a seasonal worker, don't forget), he must also be tempted by a little drink like this when scraping becomes necessary to defrost car windows. -2 oz of our exceptional maple wine, the

-1 oz of Poire William (or other pear brandy)

-1/2 oz of orange curaçao

-1/4 oz of maple syrup

-5 dashes of Peychaud's bitters

-Star anise for garnish

Preparation is simple: put all ingredients in your shaker with ice and stir gently with a spoon until the mixture is cold. Then, strain into a nice glass and garnish with a star anise.
