This week, the Alchemist was inspired by his surroundings during a visit to Bavaria, Germany, and concocted a little drink with local flair. Of course, the Alchemist had to change his wardrobe a bit to go unnoticed, but we are absolutely certain it was a resounding success, judging by the intrigued faces of the Germans we encountered so far. What we're offering you this week is a slightly German take on the espresso-martini, featuring peppermint schnapps. We know you have a bottle of it somewhere in your bar (either inherited from your aunt or bought at some point with the thought "this is always good," or "why are they having specials on this, it seems good," or finally, "it's strange that I found it on the street but no one must have put their mouth on the spout").

So, it's relatively easy; you'll need:

-1 oz peppermint schnapps

-1 oz Québecøl Coffee and Chili Liqueur

-5 oz hot black coffee

-about 1.5 oz whipped cream

-1 teaspoon maple syrup

So, it's relatively simple. Start by adding coffee, schnapps, and our Coffee and Chili Liqueur to your favorite coffee cup (or, if you're really fancy, your Irish or Brazilian coffee mug). Then sweeten to taste with maple syrup and finish by topping it with whipped cream!
