The Granite King
Inspired by our visit to the New France Festival this week, we've concocted for you, with our army of mixologists freshly graduated from the London School of Mixology, a cocktail worthy of Arthurian legend. In fact, it's not widely known, but it seems a knight of the Round Table came from the St-Romain area, and as he was very comfortable with granite (those who get it, get it), he would have been able to pull a certain mythical sword from the stone at some point, even before King Arthur did. He didn't quite realize that this led to a certain "social standing," and he didn't want to be stuck carrying the sword around afterward, so he logically decided to replant it in the stone. We all know the rest of the story, and the guy was granted lands in the New World (Arthur preferred him further away than close, let's say, for this sword business).
But in the meantime, this beautiful, completely true story, not hastily invented this morning, also reminds us of a little cocktail that is completely medieval – not really, but you have to try it; it's worth it.
So you'll need:
-1 oz of CØYØT
-1 oz of our Boreal Spritz
-4 oz of lemonade
-2 oz of 7up or equivalent
-A lemon slice for garnish
This week, you'll see it's incredibly easy. You'll put the ingredients in order into a Grail (oooooooohhhh thematic!), preferably a highball-type Grail filled with ice. You finish with your favorite lemon-lime soda and stir well with your long bar spoon. Complete it by adding your lemon slice for garnish.
